Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the INADCI Alumni mobile application ("the App", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information about members of the INADCI alumni network — people who have completed or are enrolled in INADCI's board-director certification programs (CAS UEMOA, CAS P, and related programs).

1. Information we collect

We collect the information you provide directly when you create and use an account:

• Account information: full name, email address, phone number (optional), and password (stored only as a securely hashed value — we never store or can see your plain-text password).
• Profile information: certification type and cohort year, job title, company, location, LinkedIn URL, a short bio, and an optional profile photo.
• Messages and media: text messages, photos, and videos you send to other members or post in the shared alumni group chat.
• Events and opportunities: events you create or RSVP to, and job/board-opportunity listings you post.
• Technical data: a session token stored securely on your device so you stay signed in, and standard server access logs (IP address, request timestamps) kept for security and troubleshooting.

We do not collect precise location data, contacts, or device identifiers beyond what is described above, and the App does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.

2. How we use this information

• To create and operate your account and authenticate you when you sign in.
• To show your profile to other verified alumni in the member directory, so fellow certified directors can find and recognize you.
• To deliver messages, photos, and videos between members, including in the shared group chat.
• To let you discover and RSVP to events, and browse or post board/career opportunities.
• To maintain the security, integrity, and reliability of the App.

3. Who can see your information

Your profile (name, photo, certification, cohort, company, job title, location, bio, LinkedIn URL) is visible to other signed-in alumni in the directory. Messages and shared media are visible only to the participants of that conversation — or, for the shared "Alumni Lounge" group chat, to all members of the network. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Where your data is stored

All account data, messages, and uploaded media are stored on servers we operate and control directly. We do not use third-party cloud advertising or data-broker services. Reasonable technical measures (encrypted password storage, authenticated API access, access-restricted servers) are used to protect your information.

5. Data retention

We retain your account, profile, and message data for as long as your account is active, so the network remains useful to other members. If you would like your account and associated data deleted, contact us using the details below and we will act on your request.

6. Your rights and choices

• You can review and update your profile information at any time from within the App.
• You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• You can request that we delete your account and associated personal data.
• You can log out at any time, which removes your session from your device.

7. Children's privacy

The App is intended for certified and enrolled participants of INADCI's professional governance programs and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App or applicable law. The "Effective date" above will be updated whenever this policy changes.
